Find out about joinedupdesign for myplace

The Sorrell Foundation has published the results of the joinedupdesign for myplace programme.

Last year, the Foundation was asked to enhance the DCSF’s myplace programme by working with 15 myplace projects across the country. Joinedupdesign for myplace gave young people – the true consumers of youth provision – the role of clients in the development of the centres, joining them up with creative advisers, architects and branding experts.

Over 150 meetings took place between the client and creative teams, during which the young people outlined what they wanted from their new centres. The publication describes the journey the teams undertook as the programme moved forward, and showcases the building design and branding concepts that the professionals produced in response to these conversations. It demonstrates ways to actively involve young people in the design of their youth centres.
