Design Club Logo

DESIGN CLUB is an after-school club, with the aim of encouraging young people to develop their skills as clients, consumers and critics of design. It provides a forum for discovering and discussing design across all its disciplines.

Each DESIGN CLUB meeting looks at a different Design Story. The Story includes a 12-minute film, following a design from the original idea, through how it is made, to the finished product. The Design Stories give pupils and teachers a unique insight into the working world of design, as well as an in-depth look at the processes used by the UK's most creative designers. The short films include interviews, insights and behind-the-scenes footage from the industry. Design Stories inform and inspire debate about the latest designs.

The DESIGN CLUB is free to UK secondary schools, to run in lunch breaks or as an after-school activity. The Club is organised within schools by Art & Design, or Design & Technology, teachers. It is currently in pilot phase, but will soon launch across the UK.
